Validation Test Engineer

In this position, you will develop software test plans and perform functional testing for In-Vehicle Infotainment systems on benches and in vehicles at our client facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Validation and verification of In-Vehicle Infotainment system on benches and in test vehicles
  • Setting up test environment and benches
  • Execute test cases and report test results with supporting data
  • Capture all necessarily logs and report bugs to developers
  • Implement test strategies that adequately assess all software aspects
  • Work with other engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Track and document all testing defects and resolutions
  • Participate in the design and development of test cases and support

Requirements

  • Experience with software testing
  • Experience with automotive electronics
  • Knowledge or experience with CAN network and CAN tools
  • Experience with bug tracking systems such as JIRA and Redmine
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Ability to isolate problems, assess the issue and clearly communicate the source and symptoms of the problem to others
  • Willing to work fast-paced projects
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to keep detailed records
  • Good communication skills to work with other teams and our clients
  • Proficiency with PC software (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Legal work authorization in the US​

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in testing automotive infotainment systems
  • Experience with embedded systems
  • Experience with Android and Linux OS
  • Familiarity with WiFi and Bluetooth
  • Familiarity with Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST)
  • Experience in creating test plans and test cases based on technical specifications
  • Previous experience with leading a team and managing a projects is a plus.
  • Ability to speak Japanese is a big plus but not required
